Hanna Duggins
Hanna Duggins has been a resident of Gainesville, FL for 12 years having started her music studies in Sarasota at the age of seven. Despite having no musicians in her immediate family, her parents supported her from the beginning. Her training is primarily in classical viola with secondary skills in violin, piano, and guitar.
She has studied with local teacher Mrs. Helen Kirklin and now Dr. Lauren Hodges at UF. Hanna is a second year student pursuing a BA in Viola Music Performance, a minor in Deaf and Hearing Sciences, and a Music in Medicine Certificate. Her career aspirations are to apply music’s impact on rehabilitation to the auditory system and explore music’s influence in American Sign Language. She has also studied Spanish for 7 years and hopes to study abroad in Spain and experience the vivacious Flamenco music style.
Hanna has performed with the Alachua County Youth Orchestra and currently performs with the University of Florida Orchestra where she has had experience with film scores, operas, dances, sacred music, and plethora of other genres. She is also familiar with solo recitals and quartet performance settings.
Her joy for teaching is driven by her teachers’ confidence in her abilities and above all God’s guidance in sharing her love for music with others. Outside of music, Hanna seeks rest in activities such as baking, reading, sitting in the sun, cross stitching, and painting.
