Masatoshi Enomoto
Masatoshi Enomoto has been playing percussion since the age of 14 and has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Miami and a Master’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Florida. He played with marching and concert ensembles in high school and college and was a member of the 1998 Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps front ensemble. After graduating from the University of Miami, he briefly taught middle school band and orchestra and later worked as a percussion instructor/arranger at many award-winning middle and high school band programs throughout the state of Florida including Glades MS, Howard Bishop MS, Miami Killian HS, Charles Flanagan HS, and Santa Fe HS. He also taught private percussion lessons at the College of Central Florida (Ocala) and Santa Fe College (Gainesville). In South Florida he performed with various world music groups; locally with Morningbell, Killarney Star, Quadrabop, and the Gainesville Big Band; and performed with Santa Fe College (West Side Story/A Chorus Line), the Southwest Florida Symphony, Florida Grand Opera, and the Miami City Ballet. Currently, he is Principal Percussion/Tympani with the Gainesville Orchestra, section percussion with the Ocala Symphony, and plays drum set with Swing Theory and Little Jake and the Soul Searchers. Masa teaches percussion including- snare drum (rudimental/concert), drum set, keyboard percussion, auxiliary percussion, basic music theory, rhythm reading, and beginning hand drums.
